Amy Vaughan & Julie McElmurry
Amy is a poet, advocate, and ordained United Methodist minister. Her first book, published in 2017, is a collection of poetry, 40 Days of Grief and Lament. Art, poetry, prayer, and small group support, helps her through stressful life transitions. Previously she directed an arts program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has been a WG presenter for the last 3 years.
Julie’s life has included the successful launch of a film school in Charlotte, NC, leading retreats and workshops, and serving as a campus minister. She has embraced resilience in times of transition and has learned the value of putting words to experience and learning from others. She presented at WG 2018.
Julie and Amy met at WGF 2015 around a campfire at night, becoming friends before they could see each other’s faces! They meet monthly for a shared “sabbath day.”
